Blackhawk-Neff is serving as the electrical contractor for Seneca Valley School District’s major Intermediate High School and Performing Arts Center addition and renovation project in Harmony, Pennsylvania.

The multi-phase project includes approximately 200,000 square feet of new learning space, a new three-story academic wing, renovations to existing educational and athletic facilities, and a new 1,600-seat Performing Arts Center. Construction is being carefully phased to allow the district’s secondary campus to remain operational throughout the project.

At the center of Blackhawk-Neff’s $16.6 million electrical contract is the power infrastructure supporting Seneca Valley’s expanded secondary campus. Blackhawk-Neff is delivering a comprehensive distribution system that includes a 4,000-amp, 480/277-volt main switchboard, 2,500-amp switchgear, large-capacity distribution equipment, transformers and panelboards, along with extensive underground and building feeder infrastructure serving the new academic addition, renovated facilities and Performing Arts Center.

The project also incorporates a new 350 kW emergency power system with generator distribution equipment and multiple automatic transfer switches, providing reliable emergency power for critical building and life-safety systems.

Beyond the primary power infrastructure, Blackhawk-Neff’s scope extends throughout the campus and includes interior and exterior lighting, advanced lighting controls, fire alarm and area-of-rescue systems, access control, CCTV infrastructure, intercom and master clock systems, public address, audiovisual systems, telecommunications infrastructure and extensive site electrical work.

For the new Performing Arts Center, Blackhawk-Neff is delivering specialized electrical infrastructure for theatrical and performance spaces, including dedicated power distribution, theater lighting and controls, audiovisual infrastructure, life-safety systems and more than 200 theater floor boxes.

Executed across multiple construction phases on an active school campus, the Seneca Valley project requires Blackhawk-Neff to integrate power distribution, emergency power, lighting and controls, life-safety, communications, security, audiovisual, site electrical and specialized theatrical systems into a coordinated campus-wide electrical installation.

The project demonstrates Blackhawk-Neff’s ability to deliver the electrical infrastructure behind large, technically demanding facilities – combining high-capacity power distribution with the coordination, specialized systems and field execution required for a complex, multi-year construction program.
