The project consisted of removing an existing and aging 69kV – 8,320V main substation transformer and replacing it with a new substation transformer.  The project included careful outage coordination with plant production schedules and the local utility company.  We developed a critical lift plan, crane, and rigging to remove the old transformer and install the new transformer.  Custom I-Beam housekeeping pad was fabricated and installed, along with custom bending of the new primary and secondary buss work. The project also included installing a below grade rubber bladder containment system around the new transformer.  The project provided a modern and reliable upgrade to a key substation component enhancing electrical system reliability and long-term operational demands of our industrial customer.
