Founded in 1970, Blackhawk-Neff has built a lasting legacy of leadership, expertise, and reliability in the electrical industry. Guided by a leadership team of four seasoned professionals with diverse backgrounds, we continue to honor our family-founded values while delivering high-quality, complex projects for commercial and industrial clients and utility-adjacent distribution work. This leadership ensures that our company maintains a culture of accountability, safety, and collaboration, while providing the technical depth required for large-scale power distribution, substations, and industrial electrical systems.
We take a hands-on approach to every project. Blackhawk-Neff’s leadership team remains actively engaged in project oversight, supporting our field and management teams to ensure successful execution from start through completion. This structure allows us to maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance, while delivering the resources and expertise required for projects of any size. Robert W. Neff | President
Robert’s history with Blackhawk-Neff dates back to the very beginning, when his father founded the company in 1970. With more than 50 years of experience in the electrical contracting business, he has played a key role in the company’s growth and long-term success.
Robert began working at Blackhawk-Neff at just 12 years old and has remained dedicated to the company ever since. Today, he takes great pride in working alongside his son, continuing the family legacy.
He has also served as Chairman of the JATC Apprenticeship Board for more than 25 years. Robert strongly believes in the company’s owner-participation approach and the value that hands-on leadership brings to the organization and its people.
Thomas J. Hogue | Vice President/Secretary
With more than 30 years of experience in various industrial markets, Thomas is a proud second-generation partner of Blackhawk-Neff. Thomas began his career in the electrical union as an apprentice and steadily advanced through the ranks to journeyman, foreman, project manager, and ultimately vice president in 2015. His career reflects decades of hands-on experience, leadership, and a strong commitment to the industry and the organization.
He currently serves on the NECA/IBEW Labor Management Committee and the Scholarship Committee.
Adam R. Neff | Vice President/Treasurer
Adam brings extensive engineering expertise to Blackhawk-Neff. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University.
Prior to joining Blackhawk-Neff, Adam worked in Texas as an electrical engineer, where he developed a diverse background across a variety of engineering projects. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Texas.
As a third-generation partner, Adam continues the family tradition of leadership while contributing technical knowledge and innovative solutions to the company. He currently serves on the NECA/IBEW Health and Welfare Committee.
Willam “Caleb” Brown | Vice President
In addition to his extensive experience working in the field as an electrician, Caleb also brings a strong background in general contracting and agriculture. Serving as a liaison between customers and our electricians, he plays a key role in day-to-day employee relations, design-build projects, and fostering a strong team culture.
Caleb is widely recognized for his blue-collar leadership style and his deep understanding of the challenges and realities of daily installations.
